HOW TO COLD BREW TO BALANCE PITTA IN SUMMERS

 

Summer time is such a wonderful time to enjoy cold drinks and balance the Pitta

Pitta season runs from December to February in Australia. During the summers most of us feel the effects of the increased Pitta in the atmosphere & body. Whether you are predominantly Pitta by constitution or not, it is important to take measures to keep the fire element in balance during the heat of the summer. 

There are simple things you can do to pacify Pitta that will help you enjoy summer more and ensure that the excess heat does not create imbalance in mind and body.

 

-First is to have cold drinks but dont reach out for carbonated drinks those will effect your digestion.

 

-Use Rose petals or water- In ayurveda, the rose is renowned for its powerful cooling effect on the physiology 

 

COLD BREW

 

ICED TEA

 

Add 1/2 teaspoon of turmelixir to 2 tbsp hot water and mix well. Top with 250ml or 1 Cup of cold water.

 

​For a party sized brew, add 2 heaped teaspoons of turmelixir to 1L cold water with same steps.

 

Refrigerate 2+ hours or to have immediately add ice.

Optional : slice of lemon, mint leaves (help detox and flush toxins out) of the system

 ICED TURMERIC ROSE TEA

 

Add 1/2 teaspoon of turmelixir to 2 tbsp hot water and mix well.

 

add 1/2 tespoon dried of fresh rose petals. Top with 250ml or 1 Cup of cold water. 

 

GOLDEN ICED LATTE: 1 teaspoon of Turmelixir with 2 tbsp of warm water and mix well. Pour onto the paste a cup of cold milk/mylk. Add Ice & serve immediately. sweeten if desired.

 

TURMERIC LEMONADE:

 

 

Add 1/2 teaspoon of turmelixir to 2 tbsp hot water and mix well.

 

squeeze 1/2 lemon,

 

sweetner: add honey or raw sugar or choice of sweetner

 

Top with 250ml or 1 Cup of cold water.

 

Optional add mint leaves or rose petals
